The brief
This 140-year-old UK promotional merchandise business came to us halfway through a project. An agency had already designed the site and the client had signed it off. The developers they hired couldn't build it: too many pages, too much detail, too much custom behaviour.
They needed two things. Someone to finish the build without reopening the design, and a site their own team could update afterwards without calling a developer for every line of copy. Before any of that, they needed to believe it would actually launch.
What we built
A live carbon-offset feed, and a backend that keeps design and content apart.
The business sells on its environmental record, so a static sustainability banner wasn't enough. We connected the site to their carbon-offset data through an API, and the numbers on the page update as the real figures change. Visitors see the impact rather than being told about it.
Underneath, we built a content layer that keeps the agency's layouts locked while the team edits text, images and the data feed freely. Nobody can break a page by editing it.
The key moves
- Took over a stalled build. Audited what existed, kept what worked, and gave the client a dated plan to launch.
- Matched the design across 60+ pages. Built in Elementor at full fidelity, at a page count the previous team couldn't manage.
- Connected the carbon-offset API. Real environmental figures, live on the page.
- Separated design from content. The team edits freely and the layout never breaks.
- Added triggered popups and data connections. Behaviour-based popups and the integrations the business runs on.
