The client

One of the largest privately owned businesses in promotional merchandise, trading for more than 140 years across Europe and the US. From its UK base it runs branded merchandise and corporate apparel, gift packs and kits, in-house decoration (embroidery, screen and digital print, laser engraving), warehousing and kitting, and branded webstores.

Its clients range from multinationals to local charities, across finance, retail, tech, travel, sport and the public sector. Sustainability is central to how it sells: an eco product range, carbon-offset partnerships and a top-tier independent sustainability rating several years running.

The brief

The business came to us halfway through a project. An agency had already designed the site and the client had signed it off. The developers they hired couldn't build it: too many pages, too much detail, too much custom behaviour.

They needed two things. Someone to finish the build without reopening the design, and a site their own team could update afterwards without calling a developer for every line of copy. Before any of that, they needed to believe it would actually launch.

What we built

A live carbon-offset feed, and a backend that keeps design and content apart.

The business sells on its environmental record, so a static sustainability banner wasn't enough. We connected the site to their carbon-offset data through an API, and the numbers on the page update as the real figures change. Visitors see the impact rather than being told about it.

Underneath, we built a content layer that keeps the agency's layouts locked while the team edits text, images and the data feed freely. Nobody can break a page by editing it.

The key moves

  1. Took over a stalled build. Audited what existed, kept what worked, and gave the client a dated plan to launch.
  2. Matched the design across 60+ pages. Built in Elementor at full fidelity, at a page count the previous team couldn't manage.
  3. Connected the carbon-offset API. Real environmental figures, live on the page.
  4. Separated design from content. The team edits freely and the layout never breaks.
  5. Added triggered popups and data connections. Behaviour-based popups and the integrations the business runs on.

The outcome

60+
pages built to the agency design
4 yrs
of support and consulting since launch
0
developer calls needed to edit content

The site launched, the design held up in real use, and the team got the independence they were promised. The client has stayed with us for support and consulting for over four years since.

“The job was never just the website. It was being the partner they could rely on.”
